August is Baseball Month
Baseball’s rich history has some very deep roots in Virginia. For example, Charlottesville served as the spring training home for the Boston Red Sox in 1901 and Hall of Fame pitcher Eppa Rixey hailed from Lynchburg. Like baseball, Virginia Farm Bureau’s roots in the Commonwealth stretch across generations of families.
To celebrate America’s pastime and Virginia’s baseball heritage, Farm Bureau Insurance has teamed up with all of the state’s minor league teams to offer free admission tickets.
Farm Bureau members can get two free tickets to a minor league game, good for any day during the month of August.
The clubs participating in the 2010 promotion:
Bristol Sox
Danville Braves
Lynchburg Hillcats
Norfolk Tides
Potomac Nationals
Pulaski Mariners
Richmond Flying Squirrels
Salem Red Sox
Farm Bureau members can pick up their tickets at the stadium ticket office by presenting their Farm Bureau membership card or a copy of the Farm Bureau Insurance Baseball Month advertisement, found in the July issue of the Cultivate magazine.
